Cookie policy

As all online stores, Kft. also uses cookies. This page describes what they are, what information they store, how we use the information and why we sometimes need to store these cookies. We will also share how you can prevent the use of these cookies.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are tiny files which are stored on your computer for a certain period of time. They are designed to hold a modest amount of data specific to a particular client and website, and can be accessed either by the web server or the client computer. Some of them are simply there provide a better user experience, while others are essential to the functionality of any complex website, so in general they are quite useful.

2. Cookie types

Here's a brief list of the types of cookies we use. They have various expiration dates, some of them (eg. the ones related to your current session) disappear when you close the browser, while some of them (eg. your preferences and cart data) may remain up to 90 days or even more. These are the main categories:

Essential — Some cookies are absolutely essential to a complex online store like Stockfresh. Without them you wouldn't be able to sign in to your account and we wouldn't even be able to track the items you added to your cart or your lightbox. Disabling these cookies will render the site useless, therefore it is definitely not recommended. Examples: PHPSESSID, cart_id, inst_id, lightbox*, tmp

Non-essential — Other cookes are non-essential, but for example they can provide you with a more personalized experience by remembering your preferences, such as the language of your choice, the order of search results, thumbnail sizes and so on. We may also place small bits of technical information in cookies for general performance reasons, for example to reduce load times. Disabling them will not break the site, but you may see degraded performance, so we don't recommend it. Examples: ab, browser, display*, js, language, member, pages

Third party — We also use some trusted third party services that may also place cookies on your computer. For more detailed information on these services, please see the following section.

3. Third party cookies

This section details cookies placed on your computer by third party services.

Stockfresh uses Google Analytics — one of the most widespread and trusted analytics solution on the web — to learn more about how our customers use our website. These cookies may track things such as how long you spend on the site, the pages you visit and the items you purchase. The data is aggregated and completely anonymous, and it allows us to improve your experience and make better business decisions. Disabling these cookies will not affect your user experience on the site, but we'll have less data to work with. For more information please visit the official Google Analytics page.

As a Facebook or Google user, you may choose to use their respective authentication services (Facebook Connect / Google Sign-in) to create an account or sign in to Stockfresh. To ensure a smoother experience, these services may place cookies on your computer to identify you and track your activity. Disabling these cookies will break sign ins via Facebook or Google, and it may affect their own services as well. For more information please visit the following pages: Facebook cookie policy / Google cookie policy

4. Disabling cookies

You can prevent cookies from being stored on your computer by adjusting the settings in your browser (see your browser Help on how to do this). Please note that while disabling certain cookies may or may not affect the functionality of the site, disabling them all will break it for sure, therefore it is not recommended.

However, if you are worried about your privacy on the web in general, we recommend a fantastic free app / browser extenstion called Ghostery. It helps you browse smarter by giving you control over ads and tracking technologies to speed up page loads, eliminate clutter, and protect your data. In other words it will automatically remove all the bad cookies you don't want on your computer while keeping the ones that are necessary for the websites to work properly.
